SIMEC Mine Tahmoor Coking, Coal Pump Station Overhaul

27th April 2020

Longwall Hydraulics have recently completed a longwall pump station overhaul for Tahmoor Coking Coal Operations.

The pump station overhaul consisted of a complete disassemble, overhaul of all pumps, motors and associated hydraulic and electro-hydraulic control valves and crawler track assemblies.

A full hosing replacement was completed to allow for safety and compliance in alignment with site and NSW regulatory guidelines.

A full DCB and electrical overhaul was completed in conjunction with relevant Australian standards by our local electrical vendor to ensure safety and compliance was maintained at high quality.

This overhaul was completed in our Unanderra facility and overlapped with 3 OEM pump stations being built, and another complete overhaul for one of our Queensland customers. The workshop was at full capacity throughout this period.

As part of our scope Longwall Hydraulics completed full 3300V/415V Factory Acceptance testing to ensure all systems were checked and confirmed to exact specification, and tested, simulating underground performance as per the mines site and Australian standards.

This live power testing ultimately ensures a seamless underground commissioning and start-up for the Tahmoor longwall production team.

Thanks to the entire Longwall Hydraulics team involved, as well as all of the local vendors that made the overhaul such a success with high quality results.
